Shower Steam Versus a Crawl Leak When the House Stays Wet

A Taylor County house that stays wet after showers is not automatically a dehumidifier sale. We sort bathroom steam from a crawl leak first.

Steam after a shower is not a crawl leak

We still get Perry calls for a dehumidifier because the house feels wet after morning showers. Bath fans that dump into the attic, or a crawl that stays wet after rain, are different sources. Stacking a dehumidifier on top of a leak just hides the water. We sort shower steam from a crawl leak before we talk about another box.

Indoor humidity equipment questions route through our indoor air pages. Cooling that never dries the house because the coil is iced belongs on A/C repair and installation. A ductless head that weeps while it runs is a drain under mini-split service.

Time the wetness

Write whether the house is clammy only after showers, after rain, or all day. Photograph the crawl hatch, bath fans, and any stained flooring. A wet crawl after a storm week is a building leak conversation. All-day stickiness with a weak bath fan is steam that never left.

Coverage is on Perry and service areas. Book through contact.

What to send

When it feels wet, bath-fan photos, and crawl photos if you have them. More notes sit on the blog.

Fix the source. A dehumidifier is a tool after steam and leaks are named, not a cover for both.
